Before I post the November kit, some important announcements to share!
First, a few announcements:
1) Kits and supplements are in the store now,
or will be momentarily. With the exception of
those customers who have made arrangements
for me to autocharge their credit cards,
ALL SUBSCRIBERS should endeavor
to purchase their kits from the store this month.
Please do not wait for a paypal invoice from us.
Simply click on SHOPPING, then KITS, then CURRENT
KITS. We will also be putting all the supplements and
kits showing as featured products on the front page of
the store, so you should be able to see them easily.
2) Members who have not paid for their kits or told me
of their intent to skip by December 4th will be invoiced
on paypal, but again, please make every effort to
purchase your kit through the store rather than waiting
on me for an invoice.
3) Next week we will also provide you with more
information about the automated payment and subscription
management system we will be using starting January.
You will receive information with regard to that the mid-part
of next week, including instructions as well as FAQs. We'd
really like everyone set up on the new system by December
15th, so please make an effort to take care of that once you
receive the email - it shouldn't take long and so far our
testing of the system has been error-free, (yay!)
4) With regard to the STORE, there is a button
in the store for combining shipping on multiple orders. This
option should ONLY be selected if you have already paid for
shipping on your initial purchase - if you've only made one
purchase, do not choose this option as it will zero out your
shipping and we'll have to invoice you separately for it.
This will hold up shipment of your kit.
5) And a quick reminder -- that anyone may purchase
supplements, you don't have to be a scrapologie subscriber
to purchase a supplement!
Thanks everyone, and without futher ado, may we
present... scrapologie's December kit, Days of Light.
These are the days…
These are the days, you’ll remember
Never before and never since, I promise
Will the whole world be warm as this
And as you feel it,
You’ll know it’s true
That you are blessed and lucky
It’s true that you
Are touched by something
That will grow and bloom in you
These are days you’ll remember
When May is rushing over you
With desire to be part of the miracles
You see in every hour
You’ll know it’s true
That you are blessed and lucky
It’s true that you are touched
By something that will grow and bloom in you
These are days
These are the days you might fill
With laughter until you break
These days you might feel
A shaft of light
Make its way across your face
And when you do
You’ll know how it was meant to be
See the signs and know their meaning, it’s true,
You’ll know how it was meant to be
Hear the signs and know they’re speaking
To you, to you…
-10,000 Maniacs, These Are Days
In the midst of winter, I learned that there was within me, an invincible summer.
-Albert Camus
The last days of Autumn are waning and winter is
nearly upon us in the Midwest. Thoughts turn to holidays
and celebrations, but I find that as much as I love the
holidays, I always dread the approach of a Midwest
winter with its short days, bitter cold and grey,
clouded skies. This month’s kit is a celebration of
life, a celebration of days, not just the sunny,
light-infused days of spring and summer, or the
gold ripened days of fall, but also the glittering
white days of winter when the earth sleeps and
Mother Nature blankets us generously with snow
and ice. Winter is a time to slow down, a time for
introspection, for dreaming about spring gardens
and warm summer nights, while knowing that the
pulse of life beats under white snowdrifts and runs
in the veins of frosted branches. Winter is also a
time for recognizing that every day of life is a gift
and a miracle. Every day that we awake to greet
the world is one ripe with potential and opportunity
and a chance to live. And that makes us blessed
and lucky, indeed.
After the merriment and mirth of the holidays have
passed, winter casts its quiet spell upon us. I lose
myself in a drift of clean sheets, a-bed with a book
and hot cider steeped with cinnamon, dreaming and
planning and penning wishes upon paper. Winter is
a time to look inward, a time to review the year that
has passed and to look with fresh eyes to the future.
What joys and sorrows did the year hold for you? What
did you get to do that you always wanted to, and what
is still on your list? What goals and dreams were realized?
What challenges were met? Did you make a new friend?
Did you say goodbye to someone you love? Did you
rejoice over something or share a laugh with a friend?
Did you cry and share a sorrow? Did you take time for
yourself? Did you learn something? Did you teach
something? Did you take a step that you were afraid
to take? Did you make a mistake and forgive yourself
for it? Did you try something, and keep at it, even
though you thought you had failed? Did you care
for someone or something? Did you give of your
time and yourself and your love? Did you LIVE?
And by embracing all that life holds for you,
whether it was sorrowful or joyful, did you
realize that every day is a day of light, even
when things seem their darkest?
That is the message of scrapologie’s December kit,
Days of Light. It’s a reminder that no matter where
you are, or what the weather is outside your door,
every single day is a gift, a day of light. And the
recognition of that is a step to real happiness.
Scrapologie’s December kit, Days of Light, is filled
with wonderful things to help you record the celebration
that is life, to record the defining moments of the year
that has passed and to plan and dream for light-filled
days in the year to come. The kit features the clean
and refreshingly modern design of the “Play” line of
papers from American Crafts, paired with complementing
patterns from KI Memories (my favorite is the monthly
calendar of days!) The color palette is joyous and
colorful, and a reminder that our days are filled with
color, light and beauty. We’ve included six sheets of
perfectly coordinating Bazzill Cardstock in Green Tea,
Lily White, Squash, Splash, Yam and Java. And we
have some special embellishments for you this month!
My favorite is the darling little letterpressed journaling
cards that we were able to get – each one decorated
with a miniature bouquet of asterisks pressed onto
French Kraft paper. Use them for a loving note
tucked into a lunchbox, sweet nothings to your
“sweet babboo”, or use them on a card or layout!
For sheer fun and frivolity, nothing beats the
swimming pool colored paper frills from Doodlebug –
a reminder that days of light should be filled with
gaiety and laughter. We’ve also included new thickers
letter stickers from American Crafts in Olive Green,
Days of the Week Journaling Spots from Heidi Swapp
to record the ordinary and extraordinary events in
your days past or ahead, Color Coded Adhesive
Tabs from Knock Knock, itty bitty letter stickers
in black and white from EK Success’ Bookworks Line,
and a smidgen of felt flowers from American Crafts –
the felt to symbolize warmth and flowers to symbolize
happiness. Plus each kit contains one 12” x 12” sheet
of Fancy Pants Bigger Board Chipboard Shapes
(designs will vary) from kit to kit.
The supplements are also full of colorful goodies
to help you through the winter months, and we’ve
named them to inspire -- Laughter, Cheer, Joy,
Warmth and Delight. You’ll love papercrafting with
them and completing the special projects they
contain – the calendar based projects would
make lovely Christmas gifts – though you
may just be tempted to keep them when
you’re done!
The design team gallery is full of lovelies this
month (even with three designers on a leave
of absence, there’s still PLENTY of eye candy!)
Make sure to scroll down and view all the DT
projects!
Finally, we want to thank you, all of our wonderful
customers! From our family at scrapologie, to yours,
we wish you and yours a very happy and blessed
holiday season, wherever you are in the world,
may every day of the year ahead be a day of
light for you.
Fairy godmother, magical glitter dust keeper, story teller, dreamer, and artist.
