Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
-Emily Dickinson
This baby new year that is upon us has his work cut out. 2008 has been a year of great personal challenges for me and for so many other people. It is a year that I will never forget. Despite the many hardships that so many endured, I hope that there were some wonderful things that happened too, in your world. As for me, I prefer to focus on the wonderful things, not so much the hardships. I always want to see my glass half full rather than half empty.
I am thankful for gainful employment that enables me to work from my home, I am thankful for a child who humbles me everyday with her love, for an amazing husband who supports my passions, and for a wonderful family and friends that are always there for me. I am thankful that I have art in my life to be passionate about. I am thankful for all of you who I call my online friends, who care to visit me and leave comments on my blog - they mean more than you know. I will celebrate the end of a difficult year, and raise my eyes to the hope of happy times ahead. Happy New Year to you and yours, and may your celebrations be safe ones.
Love, Ranjini
Happy New Year, Ranjini!
Wishing you and your family the very best for the new year!
Hugs,
