A cup of tea between friends...

I've come upon a little collection of teatime images which I am happy to share with you! There is nothing I love better than a hot, bracing cup of tea. I take mine with milk and sugar, and I brew it with a clove of cardamom. I always use fresh water for boiling (never reboiling the water) and I let it steep for a good 3-4 minutes before adding milk and sugar. Nothing makes me feel better after a stressful day and it is a must to start my mornings. I drink a few different brands I get at the Indian grocer, Wagh Bakri, Red Label and Taj Mahal, but I love all teas, herbal ones too. I usually also take a break every day around  two o'clock to brew a cup to get me through the afternoon. I am fascinated with tea and all its accoutrements. I'll share more in the next few posts, for now let's start off with a few dear images. Perhaps you'd like to take tea in the salon, with plenty of lovely china teacups and gussied up in finery?

 

Or maybe you're the sort that loves a teddy bear tea, especially a cup of blackberry tea brewed with fresh blackberries gathered by sweet little bears?

 

Perhaps you're the sort that prefers tea boiled in a strong kettle over a campfire and enjoyed with a bevy of bunnies?

Here is the little marquise that was evidently the intended recipient of those tulips that our little fellow picked yesterday. Love the little beribboned pup!

Tulips, Travel & Thievery

Glad you loved the cheery images from the last post. I thought I'd stick with the bright images for a post or two, to bring you a little taste of spring. I found the sweetest little marquis enjoying spring tulips and it reminded me of how much I adore the sight of tulips in the spring.

This little one looks like she is all set to embark on a wonderful adventure. And is taking along a picnic basket of goodies and a pup to share it with!

 

Rule #1 of childhood mischief: always have an accomplice when attempting petty thievery, lol!

A Bit of Sunshine

Love both of these cheery images; they seem to emit a ray of sunshine and remind me at once of Mary Engelbreit's style and her drawings of charming cottages with slanted roofs in candy colors. I am mourning the loss of Home Companion magazine. Sigh. 

This one is a bit funny, is that her brother or boyfriend hidden in the bushes, and what is that in his hand? I can't tell if it's a golf club and he's retrieving a ball, or some sort of a stick with which he is planning to do some harm to the little girl's suitor and rolling up his sleeve for the purpose, yeeps!

Sunday evening scramble

   

I believe this is actually a new year card, but think it's so pretty anyway! Had a busy weekend. Relatives here, and as if that wasn't enough to keep me busy, I spent half the day Saturday getting a tooth crowned, ugh.

Now I am trying desperately to get my desk area which has exploded into a creative mess, cleaned up before the work week ahead. I have checked email, and owe some of you (Sherry) a response, and hope to get emails answered sometime tomorrow.

Just now, I am going to get this mess cleaned up and watch the Oscars. Have a good evening!

When Irish Eyes are Smilin'

 

Just to add - many of the images that are characterized by me as St. Patty's Day images are my own interpretation (I am sure you guessed that - as the ones with French text on them surely wouldn't be Irish!) I've characterized them that way though mostly because of color or content (shamrocks, etc.) The four leaf clover is represented as a bringer of happiness in the French postcards.You could photoshop out the text and add St. Patty's Day verbage instead.

Marie "Chat-oinette"

Here is a look at the Marie Chatoinette project I created for a class. In this photo, she is missing the white feather I added to her hat so I'll have to get another pic of her head and upload it in the next day or so. She was made from a template from Mirkwood Designs (I am not selling the template as it is downloadable for free at Mirkwood Designs). I am toying with the idea of offering precut sizes of the papers I used for this project in a small "un-kit" for lack of a better word. It won't really be a full kit because the template is free and downloadable and therefore wouldn't be included, not to mention it's not legal to offer it for sale. Anyway, if it would interest you, let me know and I can probably get some paper packs together, maybe even add some trims, we'll see! Also, if you'd be interested in instructions for this paper doll, please let me know and then I'll post step by step instructions.

Off to Cleveland again tomorrow for work, Bob will be in Atlanta for work - and then relatives coming in over the weekend. Do you ever feel like the pace of life is going so fast that you just want to get off the merry go round? Some day, I will buy myself a plane ticket to a remote island somewhere and do nothing but watch the ocean lap at my feet for days.

Jenni Bowlin DT Projects - February Kit

Here are my Jenni Bowlin Studio DT layouts with the February kit. Most everything in the kit were new CHA releases designed by Jenni and I could not get enough of the luscious papers, rubons (they go on like butter), the cardstock stickers and the chipboard buttons. And the gorgeous little pearl flowers...the whole kit was scrumptious!
