December JBS Mercantile & Font Love

December Kit Gallery Updates are up at JBS Mercantile and my contributions are below. I have to say I loved this kit so much, the creamy and buttery yellow tones were right up my alley!

I also have been really getting into fonts on my work lately. The Sweet November layout below uses Burgues Script, a font I have been eyeing for a long time and finally took the plunge to purchase it. It's a really beautiful calligraphic font by Alejandro Paul of Sudtipos Type and can be purchased at Veer.com. Next on my wish list is Compendium which is equally beautiful. I was thrilled to find a font similar to Compendium in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which I've used on the very last layout ("Blessed") below.

 

Another great site I've stumbled across for free fonts is Font Squirrel. Lots of high quality professional fonts including the ones I used in the layout below:

Other than that, we're just busy with Christmas preparations, have a great week ahead!

Today I'm sharing a little gift wrapping project I did for the 7 Gypsies Blog  with kraft and red papered jewelry boxes that I picked up at my local craft store. I used supplies from 7 Gypsies to embellish and wrap these packages. Each one took literally minutes and I guarantee they'll take the recipient's breath away! You can read more about the supplies used on the 7 Gypsies Blog, where they are featuring holiday crafting and decor ideas all month long!

 This last one is my favorite. I used 7 Gypsies elastics to fasten the bottles to the front of the package after securing them with a glue dot first, and then punching holes with an awl in the box lid to thread the elastic through.

I'll be sharing more soon; in the meantime, I've got to hop to it and get my christmas decor up at home. We have a naked prelit tree sitting in the living room since Saturday - I haven't had time to get the ornaments out and get it decorated but it'll be up by the end of the week hopefully!
