I just spent a half hour writing a post that I failed to save and lost midway, ugh. Let's try this again. This layout was made with some new Quickutz Revolution dies (they released some really gorgeous ones in December - damasks, chandelier, crowns, chandelier pendants, flower spray, cupcakes, pennants, etc.) The label frame, the birds (with the exception of the swan) and the flower spray are all QK die shapes. I layered them where you see the music sheet of paper on top of the black shape. I also layered two of the flower spray shapes with pop dots in between for dimension. There was some font work involved in photoshop - the swan was created by using a silhouette swan shape and laying white text over it. I used Beautiful ES for the text on the swan. Simply layer white text onto the black shape and print it out, cut it out leaving a slight margin of white. Thus continues my love affair with silhouette shapes. This is a great site for free silhouette shape downloads, in case you have been looking for some silhouettes yourself.
This layout was totally inspired by this gorgeous candle I saw here when I was browsing at The Blissful:
And I also was asked by Karen from Keep In Touch Cardshop to design with their lovely February Kit. I have a few projects to share and hope to create some more this month with the lovely kit Karen sent me. She stated it would go up some time today so if you don't see it - check back. It's a very lovely kit with lots of pink and black, very elegant and gorgeous!
Here's a layout I did using mostly the kit, followed by an altered composition book, another paper doll (template from Mirkwood Designs) and a card using one of the vintage images here from the scrapologie blog.
Okay - off to put the little one to bed. Here's a vintage image for you before I go though -- this is what I felt like when I lost that post after all that writing! This one is also, incidentally, for Doris, who has been mourning the loss of her little man's precious curls (though his haircut makes him no less adorable!) This little guy is annoyed at being made to dress up in a tie and pose for his picture, when clearly, he'd rather be looking for frogs and chasing puppy dogs' tails. A bientot!
